Updates on MAA 15th Anniversary

1. Foreign Participants Notice

Arrivals at KLIA
At the Arrival Hall, representatives from MAA will carry placard “AIKIDO/ MAA”.
They will direct you to the train platform (Express Rail Link) to take the train from Airport to Sentral Station in Kuala Lumpur. Please ready MYR 35.00. You will reach within 28 minutes.
Upon reaching Sentral Station, our representatives will be waiting at the ERL exit gate with placards “Aikido/ MAA”. They will then send you to your Hotel accordingly.

Arrivals at LCCT
At the Arrival Hall, representatives from MAA will carry placard “AIKIDO/ MAA”.
They will direct you to the bus-stop about 150 metres away on the left side after you exit the Arrival Hall. Please ready MYR 8 to 10. Try to board those half or almost full as they will leave earlier. The bus will reach Sentral Station in about 1 hour. Our representatives will be waiting at the bus-stop with placards “AIKIDO/ MAA”. They will then send you to your Hotel accordingly.

At Hotel Olympic and Cititel MidValley, we will have personnel there to handle your Registration and check-in.

2. Hotel Accomodations

Please note that contrary to our earlier notice that participants pay direct to the hotel for their accommodations, you will now pay to the Malaysia Aikido Association at Registration.
The reason is that the MAA has already paid the hotel in order to secure the rooms (as requested by the hotels). All other additional expenses eg room service, mini bar consumption and laundry service will be settled by the participants with the hotel.

6. Anniversary Dinner

Time: 7.30pm

Phoenix Ballroom, Level 5, Hotel Pearl International, 6th Mile, Jalan Klang Lama.
Dress code: Smart Casual
Bus transport will be provided from 2 pick-up points at 6.30pm:

Please wait in the hotel lobby.

The food supplied is halal (suitable for Muslims). If you wish to have Vegetarian food, please advise before 30th June 2009.

7. Videotaping and photography

All forms of unauthorised videotaping (either with videocam, handphones or other mobile devices) and photography are strictly prohibited during Seminar sessions. DVDs of the Seminar will be produced for sale and photographs during training will be taken, put up and freely downloadable from our website.

8. Laundry

This service is available at your hotels. Please check with housekeeping to determine the exact cost and how long they will take to return your laundry (probably the next day).

9. Lunch

Chinatown (Jalan Petaling) is just a 10 minutes walk down the hill from the Dojo/Training Hall.
Do go and savour the great variety of foods that are available and at very affordable prices. Snatch thefts are on the rise so please travel in groups and carry your bags close to you to avoid any unpleasant experience. Otherwise it is safe to walk around in Chinatown.

11. H1N1 situation in Malaysia

As of today, 68 confirmed cases, mainly from those coming in from overseas eg United States, Melbourne, United Kingdom, Philippines. Local transmission - only 2 cases.
Please exercise personal hygiene (cough with mouth covered, hand-wash, take plenty of water, etc). If you are sick with a running nose, fever, cough, bodyaches, difficulty in breathing, please consult a doctor immediately.
